Acting with Archetypes Workshop

Alexandra Zadak, Co-Founder of This Is Improv, This Is Life Unscripted, and This Is Legends of Yesterday Historic & Ghost Tours, brings her professional performance and improv experience into an exploration of Carl Jung’s Archetypes and how they can be used to create stronger, more dynamic characters.

In this workshop, students will explore Jungian archetypes such as The Hero, The Child, & The Jester, discovering how these recognizable character patterns can become practical tools for performers.

Through improv exercises, character work, and scene exploration, you can learn how to use archetypes to make quicker character choices, establish relationships, understand motivation, develop physical and vocal characteristics, and create characters with greater depth.

Designed for improvisers and actors working in stage and screen, this class bridges psychology and performance, giving students a new toolkit for approaching both scripted and unscripted characters.

Explore the archetype. Find the character. Then put them on their feet.
